Frequently Asked Questions

  • What can a postpartum doula help me with?

A postpartum doula supports your whole family during the early months with: Newborn care and guidance, Emotional support and reassurance, Nourishing meals, Light household help, Feeding support (breast, bottle, pumping), Caring for the baby while you rest or take time for yourself, Support for siblings and family transitions, Night support for longer stretches of sleep.

My care is always tailored to your needs and your home.

  • Do you offer night support

    Yes.
For families who book postpartum care packages, I give the option to convert some of the visits to overnight care, so you can rest while I tend to both you and your baby’s needs throughout the night.

  • What is your pricing model?

I offer single visits (3-4 hours each) as well as packages. I recommend booking packages to guarantee my availability and a discounted rate.
Packages can be customised based on daytime support, night support, or a mix of both.

  • Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes. Gift vouchers are available and are a beautiful, practical gift for expectant or new parents. You can book single visits or packages as a gift voucher.

  • Can I get reimbursed through my private insurance plan?

    Often, yes.

Irish Life and Carrot covers postpartum care, depending on your policy.
I can provide detailed receipts that some insurers and private companies accept for reimbursement. If they require specific wording or categories, I can adjust the documentation.

  • Are you trained and certified?

Yes. I completed my postpartum doula training with DoulaCare in 2020 and continue to deepen my education and hands-on experience.

I’ve completed my comprehensive birth doula training with Dr. Krysia Lynch.

I am also Garda vetted and a member of the Doula Association of Ireland (DAI), and have infant first aid certification from the Irish Heart Foundation

  • How far in advance should I book?

The earlier the better, especially for night support and holiday periods.
However, I always try to leave space for families who need last-minute care.

  • What areas do you serve?

I am based in Malahide, and I work with families from all over Dublin City and North County Dublin: Donabate, Sutton, Portmarnock, Howth, Baldoyle, Marino, Clontarf and more. For birth attendance, I cover The Rotunda, Holles Street and the Coombe (National Maternity Hospital) and Our Lady of Lourdes, Drogheda

  • How long do families usually hire a postpartum doula for?

Some families book a few sessions during the early weeks, while others choose ongoing support for several months.
I also support families up to their baby’s first year.

You are welcome to book one-off sessions or build a longer plan, whatever feels right for your family.
